THE INFLUENCE OF THE ACTIVITIES OF BANKS OF FOREIGN BANKING GROUPS ON THE FUNCTIONING OF THE BANKING SYSTEM OF UKRAINE
Abstract
Abstract. The article investigates the presence and activity of banks of foreign banking groups and determines their influence on the banking system of Ukraine. The dynamics of changes in the number of banks of foreign banking groups and the main reasons for reducing their number are analyzed. The structure of ownership of assets of the banking system of Ukraine is determined. The main perspective measures for the normal functioning of the banking system of Ukraine are outlined. It is established that under the influence of foreign banks, domestic banks are threatened with their market share loss and competitiveness deterioration, therefore they are forced to respond quickly to environment conditions that will allow them get closer to the performance indicators of foreign banks, which will have a positive effect on their competitive positions.
