Abstract
The article examines the key challenges faced by trade enterprises under martial law conditions in Ukraine. The full-scale war has significantly affected the functioning of the trade sector, causing disruptions in supply chains, destruction of infrastructure, decline in consumer purchasing power, and increased financial instability. Trade enterprises have become particularly vulnerable due to their dependence on logistics, stable demand, and continuous market operations. The study identifies the main problems affecting the sector, including limited access to financial resources, labor shortages caused by migration and mobilization, increased operational risks, and fluctuations in demand. Special attention is paid to the impact of external factors such as regulatory changes, security risks, and the need for rapid adaptation to uncertain market conditions. At the same time, the research highlights the importance of implementing adaptive strategies aimed at ensuring business continuity. These include digital transformation, development of e-commerce, diversification of supply chains, cost optimization, and active use of government support programs. The role of innovation and flexibility in maintaining competitiveness during crisis conditions is emphasized. The paper substantiates practical recommendations for improving the resilience and sustainability of trade enterprises under martial law. It is concluded that a combination of state support, strategic management, and technological modernization is essential for overcoming current challenges and ensuring long-term development of the trade sector in Ukraine. Additionally, strengthening cooperation among businesses and creating networks for resource sharing can enhance collective resilience. Emphasis is placed on continuous monitoring of market trends and risk factors to enable proactive decision-making. The study also underscores the importance of workforce training and retention strategies to mitigate labor shortages. Strategic investments in logistics infrastructure and digital platforms are identified as crucial for post-war recovery. Finally, the integration of international best practices and partnerships can support sustainable growth and increase competitiveness of Ukrainian trade enterprises.
