Information about payment for processing and publishing articles
1. The policy on fees for the processing and publication of scientific articles in the University’s periodical journals is based on the principles of transparency of financial procedures, editorial independence, compliance with ethical standards of academic publishing, and non-discrimination of authors based on their financial capacity.
2. Payment for publication and its amount in no way influence the editorial board’s decision to accept or reject a manuscript, which is based exclusively on the results of peer review and the scientific value of the work.
3. Information about publication fees or their absence is open and publicly available on the pages of the respective journals on the official website of the University’s periodical publications.
The cost of publishing an article in the scientific professional journal "Herald of Lviv University of Trade and Economics. Technical sciences" with a length of up to 12 pages is 1200 UAH. If the article exceeds 12 pages, an additional fee of 40 UAH per each subsequent page is charged. At the author’s request, a printed copy of the journal may be ordered. The cost of a printed copy is 800 UAH, which must be paid in addition to the publication fee. Confirmation of payment (a scanned receipt or its photograph) must be sent electronically by the author to the e-mail: tech@journals-lute.lviv.ua.
4. The editorial and publishing preparation of materials for print in the University’s periodical journals is subject to a fee, with certain exceptions. Payment is charged only after positive peer review and the editorial board’s decision to accept the article for publication.
5. The fee covers the costs of language and technical editing, proofreading, text layout and design, website maintenance and hosting, preparation of metadata and indexing, and printing of the paper version of the respective journal issue.
6. The amount of the fee is determined by the editorial board of the respective journal and approved by the Academic Council of the University, which is documented in an official extract from the Council’s meeting minutes.
7. The publication fee may be changed by a decision of the University’s Academic Council due to changes in economic conditions, increased costs of manuscript preparation for print, website maintenance, hosting, and other relevant circumstances. In the event of changes in the financial policy, the relevant information is published on the journal’s page on the official website of the University’s periodical publications (http://journals-lute.lviv.ua) prior to its entry into force. New payment terms do not apply retroactively to manuscripts that have already been submitted.
8. Payment is made only after receiving an official notification of acceptance of the article for publication, via non-cash transfer to a bank account, on the basis of a contract or invoice, or by bank transfer with confirmation in the form of a receipt. A copy of the payment confirmation document must be sent to the e-mail address of the periodical journal editor, which is provided on the page of the respective journal on the official website of the University’s periodical publications (http://journals-lute.lviv.ua), where all bank details and the account number for payment are also indicated.
9. In the event of a refusal to publish the article initiated by the editorial board of the journal, the funds shall be refunded to the author(s).
10. Scientific articles authored by applicants of the first, second, and third levels of higher education at the University, as well as scientific articles by full-time academic staff of the University, are published free of charge.
11. Single-authored articles by third-cycle (PhD) students studying on a state-funded basis, as well as single-authored articles by academicians and doctors of sciences from any other higher education institutions or research institutions, are published free of charge.
12. The University reserves the right to introduce a separate fee for printing additional copies of the journal, professional translation of submitted materials into English, and other publication-related services. Such services are voluntary and in no way affect the editorial board’s decision regarding the publication of an article.
13. Payment or the absence thereof does not guarantee the publication of an article, does not accelerate the editorial board’s decision-making process, and does not influence the content of editorial decisions. All manuscripts undergo the standard peer-review procedure regardless of financial conditions.
