Requirements for Formatting and Submission of Publications

To publish an article in the scientific journal (category "B") "Herald of Lviv University of Trade and Economics. Technical sciences" No. 45, 2026, no later than February 24, 2026:

• Fill in author's reference (links)

• To the e-mail address tech@journals-lute.lviv.ua send an article prepared in accordance with the specified requirements and a copy of the receipt of payment of the publication fee.

The journal’s electronic version becomes publicly available on the website duly – on April 27, 2026.

Authors who ordered a printed copy will receive it before May 27, 2026.

 

Requirements for Formatting and Submission Procedure of Publications for Dissemination in the "Herald of Lviv University of Trade and Economics. Technical sciences" (hereinafter – Requirements) define the structure of the manuscript, rules for bibliographic description, technical formatting parameters, submission and publication procedures, the peer review process, information on article processing and publication fees (or their absence), and the procedure for retraction of published articles.

1. The UDC (Universal Decimal Classification) index must be placed on the left side of the article. For correct formatting of the UDC index, it is recommended to use the following link: https://udcsummary.info/php/index.php?lang=uk&pr=Y

2. Surname and initials of the author(s). After the name(s), separated by commas, the following should be indicated: e-mail address of the author(s), ORCID ID, Researcher ID, academic degree, academic title, position, educational or scientific institution, and the city where it is located (in the language of the article and in English or Polish). Authors from foreign countries must also indicate the name of their country.

3. The title of the article must be written in capital letters in Ukrainian and English (or Polish).

4. The abstract (not less than 1800 characters) must be provided in Ukrainian and English (or Polish) (Abstract), along with Keywords (5–8 words) in the language of the article and in English (or Polish) (Key words). The abstract should briefly substantiate the relevance of the research, indicate its purpose, main results obtained personally by the author(s), conclusions, and outline prospects for further research in this area.

5. After the abstract and keywords in English (or Polish), the author(s) should indicate the JEL Classification code(s), which is an alphanumeric classification system of the American Economic Association (AEA). For correct formatting, it is recommended to use: https://www.aeaweb.org.

6. Each article is assigned a unique DOI (Digital Object Identifier) by the editorial board within the international CrossRef system, which is indicated after the JEL Classification code(s).

7. According to the Resolution of the Presidium of the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine “On strengthening the requirements for professional journals included in the lists of the HAC of Ukraine” dated January 15, 2003, No. 7-05/1, the article must contain (with mandatory highlighting in the text) the following elements:

· Problem statement (in general form and its connection with important scientific or practical tasks).

· Analysis of recent research and publications (identifying works that initiated the solution of the problem and highlighting previously unresolved aspects addressed in the article).

· Task statement (formulation of the objectives of the article).

· Presentation of the main research material (with full justification of the obtained scientific results).

· Conclusions and prospects for further research in this area.

· Literature (the reference list may be formatted by the author according to DSTU 8302:2015 “Information and documentation. Bibliographic reference. General provisions and rules” or according to one of the styles recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine).

· References (the same list transliterated into Latin script and adapted to international scientometric database requirements; formatted according to international styles such as APA, MLA, Harvard, Chicago, IEEE, etc.). For transliteration, the following resource may be used: http://litopys.org.ua/links/intrans.htm.

8. The article must be prepared in A4 format using Microsoft Word (font – Times New Roman, size 14, line spacing – 1.5, margins: left – 3 cm, right/top/bottom – 2 cm, quotation marks – “ ”) and submitted as a .doc or .rtf file. The file name (in Latin script) must correspond to the author’s surname (e.g., Petrenko.article). If there is more than one author, the file is named after the first author.

9. The full length of the article, including figures and tables, must be 14–20 pages.

10. The reference list must contain at least 10 sources in the original language (except Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Arabic; in such cases, sources are translated into English with the original language indicated in brackets).

11. The number of tables and figures should not be excessive. Tables must be numbered (e.g., Table 1, in italics) and titled (centered above the table in bold). Figures must also be numbered and titled below each figure in regular font (e.g., Fig. 2. Dynamics of sugar production in Ukraine in 2018–2025). Consecutive placement of two or more tables or figures without text is not allowed.

12. Figures created in MS Word must be grouped as a single graphic object. For figures created in Excel, the Excel file must also be submitted.

13. References to textbooks, manuals, and popular science literature are undesirable.

14. Formulas must be created using the MS Equation editor and numbered on the right.

15. Authors should consider that the journal is printed in black and white; therefore, the use of color (especially in charts and diagrams) may not ensure proper reproduction. Pattern fill in grayscale is recommended.

16. All citations and statistical data must include references in square brackets, e.g., [3, p. 35; 8, pp. 56–59], where the first number indicates the source number in the reference list, and the second indicates the page. Multiple sources are separated by a semicolon.

17. The text must not contain hyphenation or macros. Paragraphs should be created using the “Enter” key only, without spaces or tabs.

18. Only articles of high scientific quality presenting original research not previously published or under consideration elsewhere are accepted.

19. Articles must correspond to the journal’s profile and scientific specializations.

20. Authors must adhere to principles of academic integrity and bear full responsibility for the originality of the text and absence of plagiarism.

21. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of facts, quotations, statistical data, proper names, geographical names, and other information, as well as for ensuring that the materials do not contain restricted information.

22. Scientific publications by authors from aggressor countries are not accepted. Citation of sources published in Russian (in any country), as well as sources published in Russia and Belarus in any language, is prohibited.

23. Articles are accepted in Ukrainian. Submissions in English or Polish are also allowed.

24. The editorial board’s position may not coincide with the authors’ views.

25. More than one article by the same author in a single issue is not allowed.

26. The final decision on publication is made by the editorial board. Based on the review, the article may be accepted, returned for revision, sent for additional review, or rejected.

27. The editorial board reserves the right to perform literary editing, make minor corrections, and reject articles that do not meet scientific or ethical standards or submission requirements.

28. Student authors must first submit their articles to department heads or academic supervisors for approval (signed hard copy: “Approved”, name, date, signature). Undergraduate and graduate students publish only in co-authorship with supervisors.

29. All articles submitted to the editorial office before the editing process undergo a mandatory check for the presence/absence of academic plagiarism using the Strikeplagiarism software licensed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The permissible citation rate should not exceed 20% of the total volume of the article (excluding the list of literature and references).

30. Articles and application forms must be submitted electronically to the editor’s email указаного on the official website: http://journals-lute.lviv.ua

31. Articles are accepted only with a complete set of accompanying documents. For multi-author papers, the application is оформлена for the first author.

32. The review period is 4–6 weeks from submission.

33. Dates of submission, review completion, and publication are indicated for each article after the References section.
