Abstract
This article demonstrates that enterprise information systems play a crucial role in the modern business environment. These systems are complexly structured frameworks that integrate hardware and software resources, databases, methodologies, and procedures focused on the collection, storage, processing, and transmission of information within an organization's operations. Their goal is to support management and decision-making processes at various organizational levels. It is substantiated that enterprise information systems facilitate the integration of different functional areas within a company, thereby promoting process optimization and enhancing management efficiency. They provide critical information support for strategic and tactical decision-making and are essential for ensuring information security and compliance with legal requirements. It is argued that various types of enterprise information systems exist, including production management systems, customer relationship management systems, enterprise resource planning systems, supply chain management systems, and many others. Each system type has its unique functions and objectives designed to improve company operations in specific areas. The article emphasizes that combining different types of information systems can lead to issues such as incompatibility, lack of integration, and management complexity. Different strategies and methods of system integration have been developed to address these challenges. Moreover, the relevance of scientific research in the area of enterprise information system development and evolution is justified by the need to adapt to rapid technological advancement, increase competitiveness, ensure data and information security, foster innovation, and support international collaboration in a globalized context. Such research contributes to improving the entrepreneurial environment and advancing modern information technology. Successful system integration requires careful planning, effective project management, and interdepartmental collaboration. A systematic review and assessment of the integration process are essential, along with flexibility and the ability to adapt to changes and challenges throughout the process.
