Abstract

The article illuminates the need to update local traditions, the importance of restoring the cultural diversity and authenticity of the traditions of the Ukrainian people, as well as the prospects for the development of human capital. The essence and special features of festival travel and the possibilities of diversification of festival tourism products have been considered. Taking into account that festivals are one of the most powerful, dynamic and creative world industries, event -tourism activities are capable of changing, creating new forms of intercultural communication, improving socio-cultural projects, diversifying the topics, venue, duration of events to meet the needs of the modern tourist. In the course of the study, one of the favorite festive events of the Ukrainian people - Maslyana (Masnytsia), the essence of which takes place in the «farewell» with winter and meeting spring in combination with folk festivities and the consumption of the corresponding symbolic dishes, has been highlighted. The history of the tradition of celebrating and using ceremonial dishes of Slavic origin has been updated, and the symbolism of the gastronomic component of Maslyana has also been substantiated. The main result of the study is the formation of proposals for solving the problems of modern Ukrainian society by using the socio-economic effects of the implementation of festival tourism, namely: strengthening the cultural and educational function of tourism, filling the content of leisure time, forming an informational basis for patriotic education, creating prerequisites for military recovery of tourist and related spheres of activity, formation of new tourist products. It has been revealed that the use of festival tourism as a restoration of the traditions of the Ukrainian people will contribute to the creation and promotion of regional tourism brands at the international and national levels, the development of regional marketing strategies, the establishment of inter-institutional communication channels in the tourism and related fields, the development of the creative industry to ensure the development of territorial communities.
