Abstract
The article examines the possibilities of the URBACT Program for Ukrainian cities. It has been demonstrated that its main goal is to promote cooperation and exchange of ideas between cities within thematic networks. Emphasized: URBACT promotes the development of the skills of interested local actors in the development and implementation of integrated and participatory policies, and provides the exchange of knowledge and best urban practices. It is outlined that the program already includes all 27 member states of the European Union, 5 candidate countries, and from 2024 also Ukraine and Moldova. The study examines the features of the main types of networks, such as: "Action Planning Network", "Knowledge Transfer Network" and "Innovation Transfer Network". It was emphasized that the participation of Ukrainian cities in the URBACT Program from 2024 will allow them to initially join already established networks, in particular, in the area of "Action Planning Network", and later compete on an equal footing with other European cities in "Knowledge Transfer Networks" and "Innovation transfer networks". It was concluded that the participation of Ukrainian cities in the URBACT Program will contribute to more active cooperation of Ukrainian cities at the European level and their active participation in the European integration of Ukraine. The article offers recommendations to Ukrainian municipalities that plan to use the opportunities of the URBACT Program in 2025-2026, namely: carefully research the current problems and needs of the city or region, contact representatives of already existing networks to express interest in joining various projects, develop innovative approaches and solutions to solve problems in the city, study previously implemented projects within the framework of the URBACT program, participate in online information sessions organized by the URBACT Secretariat to learn all about the competitions.
