Abstract

The tourism and hospitality industry is one of the most important and dynamic industries in the modern world. It plays an important role in the development of the national economies and the global economy in general, contributes to the cultural heritage preservation and foreign investments attraction. However in order to achieve maximum success in these business areas it is necessary to use synergy – the interaction of various industries and business entities to achieve common goals. Synergy in the tourism and hospitality industry is based on the interaction of various business entities, such as travel agencies, hotels, restaurants, transport companies, tourist attractions etc. Each of them has its own unique resources and capabilities that, using synergy, can be combined to achieve common success. The article examines the specifics of synergistic effects in the tourism and hospitality industry, namely: synergistic effect of scale, joint production of a tourist product and joint marketing activities, joint development of new tourist destinations and innovative products, joint investment activity. The positive influence of synergistic effects on the tourism sustainable development has been studied. It is noted that the use of synergies in the tourism and hospitality industry helps to increase the industry’s efficiency and competitiveness. Cooperation between various subjects of the tourist and hospitality services market allows to create complex tourist products, conduct joint marketing campaigns, develop new directions and invest in joint projects. This contributes to attracting more customers, developing tourist destinations, increasing company profits, creating new opportunities and innovative development, which gives impetus to the tourism and hospitality industry further development. Therefore synergy is a necessary element of successful activity in the tourism and hotel-restaurant business.
