Abstract
The article determines the tendencies of banking investment activity development at the domestic stock market in 2013-2017. Significantly higher rates of increase of banking investments in securities during the period under review compared with the volume of other active banking operations are observed. A conclusion is made about the simplification of banking investment strategies regarding the investment in securities. The basis of the banking securities portfolio in modern conditions constitutes government securities, primarily bonds of an internal state loan. At the same time, the decline in the interest of banks in investing in corporate securities is observed. These investment priorities do not contribute to the development of the stock financing mechanism of economic activity and hinder the improvement of relations in the secondary securities market in Ukraine. The ways of investment potential increase of banking institutions, increase of their investment efficiency and investment activity in the domestic stock market are proposed.
