CHALLENGES AND DIRECTIONS OF DEVELOPMENT OF THE LABOR MARKET OF THE CARPATHIAN REGION OF UKRAINE IN THE POST-WAR PERIOD

Abstract

Abstract. The article substantiates the challenges for the labor market of the Carpathian region, namely the growth of unemployment, the lack of qualified personnel, the decline in the standards of living, uncertainty about the future, as well as the change in the structure of the economy, which negatively affect the development of the region. The purpose of this article is to study the challenges and trends in the development of the labor market of the Carpathian region of Ukraine in the post-war period. In the course of the study, other problems faced by certain groups of the population were identified, such as internally displaced persons (IDPs face difficulties in employment due to lack of documents, qualifications or knowledge of the language), people with disabilities (partial discrimination in the labor market) and young people (due to less work experience, which leads to inevitable competition with more experienced workers). In order to overcome these challenges and ensure the dynamic and sustainable development of the labor market in the post-war period, we formulated specific measures aimed at stimulating economic growth (supporting small and medium-sized businesses, investing in infrastructure, supporting innovation), developing human capital (supporting education and professional training, improving the qualification level of employees), supporting social inclusion (creating jobs for people with disabilities, supporting youth and women) and creating a favorable environment for investments (ensuring political and economic stability, reducing bureaucratic barriers, encouraging investments in priority industries). In addition to the general directions of development, we also identified specific directions for the Carpathian region, such as: the development of the green economy, tourism, agriculture and crafts. Further research will be aimed at studying the impact of the war on different population groups in the labor market (youth, women, people with disabilities, internally displaced persons).
