MARKET LOGIC AS A FACTOR OF CONFLICT IN THE SYSTEM OF SOCIAL AND LABOR RELATIONS
Abstract
In the context of globalization and structural transformations of the labor market, the quality of labor re- lations directly affects the level of employment, labor productivity, social stability as well as competitiveness of the national economy. The article examines the urgent problem of finding ways to improve social and labor relations to ensure stable economic development of Ukraine. Market logic is analyzed as an element of mental conflict in the system of social and labor relations, which is one of the key challenges for modern Ukrainian society. It is substantiated that the contradiction between economic rationality, focused on maximizing profit, and social justice, which provides for decent pay and fair distribution of labor results, forms the basis for tension in relations between employers, employees and the state. It is established that in Ukraine the manifestations of this conflict are the low level of wages, their incon- sistency with workload, the limitations of collective bargaining mechanisms and the weakness of social dialogue institu- tions. At the same time, it is emphasized that in foreign practice (in particular in the USA, Japan and EU countries) the level of conflict in the system is significantly reduced by tripartism, collective bargaining mechanisms and clear state guarantees of social protection. Comparative analysis has shown that effective models of social and labor relations are based on a combination of market incentives with a system of minimum social standards, as well as on the institutional consolidation of the role of trade unions and employers' organizations. For Ukraine, directions for improving the model of social and labor relations are proposed, which include expanding the mechanisms of social dialogue, increasing the role of collective agreements, strengthening guarantees of compliance with labor safety standards and creating condi- tions for a decent work policy. Harmonization of market logic with the social component will reduce conflicts in the labor sphere, strengthen trust between the main participants in relations and increase the stability of the national econ- omy in the conditions of war and post-war transformations. An analysis of the impact of market logic on the transfor- mation of social and labor relations in the conditions of globalization and post-war reconstruction of Ukraine is identi- fied as a promising direction for further research.
